Paul Vinnedge, ABR, CNHS and GRI

Meet Paul Vinnedge

Paul has been in Real Estate now since 1991 and a resident of the Tri-County area for over 35 years. He has established a good business in part to the many friends he has made here, but more so from all the referrals of satisfied past clients! He spent some time working at Caterpillar, Inc., (Peoria, IL is world headquarters for Caterpillar, INC) and made many acquaintances there. He also has lived in all three (Peoria, Woodford, and Tazewell) counties. Therefore, his knowledge of the area, large and small towns alike is very good. Paul is consistently in the top 7% of all Realtors in the Tri-County area.

Paul has been working for JIM MALOOF, REALTOR now since April of 1993. JMR is the largest independent company in the Peoria area, and now has 14 offices and nearly 200 agents. The company was established in 1969, and is very well respected in the area, as is Paul. JMR has a first class relocation operation, affiliated with some of the largest relocation companies in the world (Paragon, Sirva, Cendant, Prudential and the medical field), and Paul works with many of these transferees.

Paul spent time in the mid 1980s building homes. This experience has been invaluable to him and his Real Estate career. He understands homes and the structure of them. This has been particularly helpful in working with new construction home sales. Paul has a few builders in the area he works with if you are looking for a new home. The north and NW Peoria, Dunlap, Morton, East Peoria, Metamora and Washington areas are seeing a huge growth in new developments.

THE RIDIN' REALTOR: One of my passions is motorcycling. I enjoy touring our beautiful country, dinner rides and poker runs. I participate in fund raisers for children and cancer patients such as Ride for the Cure.

I got my very own first bike when I was 19, took my first long trip a few months later, and have been rolling up the miles ever since. To the tune of over 500,000!! For over 30 years now I have been touring our great country and parts of Canada.

I have many motorcycling friends in the area that I have shown homes to on a nice summer day on the bikes. What a great mix of business and pleasure!! My little hobby also allows me to peruse the area for any new developments/homes, and enabled me to learn the whole Tri-county area better.

This has been also been a great way for me to mix in two of my other hobbies. Photography and camping. It has been a wonderful way to relax and see our vast and beautiful country. Paul is also very much into sports, both college and professional.

Paul's work ethic came to light in the early 1990s when he became one of the top agents for Jim Maloof while working another full time job. He worked two jobs for about 4 years before quitting one and devoting all his efforts to Real Estate. Now he is one of the top agents in the Tri-County area. It is a testament to his dedication.

Real Estate Tips
Foreclosures >5. What Happens During the Foreclosure

  1. Missed payments. The first sign that foreclosure is coming is when a homeowner gets behind on their house payments. Lenders usually understand if a homeowner falls behind on one or two payments and will offer repayment plans so the homeowner can get back on track. However, if they don’t, the foreclosure process will continue.
  2. Lender notices. After a homeowner misses payments, the lender will get in contact with them either by mail or phone. (The timeframe depends on the lender.) The lender will most likely want to avoid foreclosure as much as the homeowner, so this dialogue can benefit the homeowner in finding alternatives to foreclosure.
  3. Options are discussed. The homeowner and the lender can brainstorm ideas on how to rectify the situation. If the homeowner and the lender can come to an agreement on payments to get the mortgage back on track, the situation is resolved and foreclosure is avoided.
  4. Foreclosure filing. If there is no solution to the process, the lender will begin filing a lawsuit to foreclose on the home. This brings the question of foreclosure before a judge. During this process, a title search must occur to make sure if the lender is permitted to foreclose and is not engaging in unjustified foreclosure. In some jurisdictions, court-ordered mediation must take place between the lender and the borrower after the borrower is served with the foreclosure suit, but before the final foreclosure decision, as a last-ditch effort to avoid foreclosure.
  5. The home is foreclosed on. The lender resumes all rights and responsibilities of the property. The previous homeowner no longer owns the home.
  6. Foreclosure auction. Usually, the house will then go to a foreclosure auction to be sold. In order to get rid of the home fast, the lender can sell the home at a lower price.
