Lakefront and Golf Course Communities.

As with many other locales, there are quite few golf course or lake communities in the central Illinois area. Many of the people here like to golf, swim, fish or just enjoy the views these communities offer!

The Illinois River Valley lends some great views and the hills that envelope the river valley created nice lakes or a dam was built to make a lake. Peoria Lake is actually part of the Illinois River and is now host to a lot of development with condos, restaurants and a gambling boat. Both the Peoria and East Peoria side of the river are being promoted for more lakefront development every day.

Lakefront property options include Heritage Lake, Lake Camelot, Lake Santa Fe and other smaller lake communities. These are all within about one half hour of Peoria and East Peoria, with Heritage Lake about 20 minutes from Morton. The small community of Groveland offers a few small lakes and is located between Pekin, Morton, & East Peoria. There are a number or golf courses in this area, with Weaveridge in Peoria and Coyote Creek just SW of Peoria offering homes, patio homes, condos and home sites right on the golf course.
